That's RBNW's paranoid rant for this week.

It's okay, W.T. I like the other board so much better--and I will see you there and talk about--music!

Are we going to talk about music over there? Not that I've initiated anything myself in recent days, but there seems to be precious little actual music talk there, in comparison to this borderline insane but more intellectually stimulating place. When I have seen music talk there, the responses haven't evinced as extensive experience as what I've seen here. Or am I missing something?

I will say that there was a great thread by GOP on Brown-eyed Women that was quite enjoyable. But, yeah, Lou, I agree that over here we get more detailed musical threads on specific shows and the like, and that really draws me back. Plus, I do think that back & forth 'conversations' (like this in effect) are much easier here.

But, that said, I have met some fine folks over there that have helped me with some techno info (I need all the help I can get), and find I enjoy both places. They are different, though, dramatically. More of a family interaction kind of thing going on there...

The thought crossed my mind that maybe it's a bit of a younger crowd there too.

Yep--that is part of the difference I think...old farts are maybe a bit crankier? Hmmm, I thought it was 'wiser' but maybe the increasing age related bowl disfunction hinders that development.

i agree, i get really cranky when my bowl dysfunctions because it gets all backed up with tar and shit and needs cleaning out so i can get a decent draw again...same goes for my soup bowl...i will spare you the details of what a dysfunctional toilet bowl does for my day...

seriously William, whether you know it or not (or for that matter, like it or not) your posts have been somewhat of an template for me/us in the art of diplomacy...collectively we can all contribute to raising the roof beam high

hey, if someone feels the need to respond, then i say go for it, and maybe we can learn something (?)

on the other hand, if someone chooses to divert, diffuse or just plain ignore a nasty situation, i can't help but admire their maturity

Hey Midnight--that's one of the nicest things I have read around here on a very personal level in a long time. Thanks for that.

I suppose it's obvious that I like CLIFF and that I still do even when he goes off (again, I think he's suffered more than most of us here so I cut him some slack), and I try to ignore most of it most of the time, but found that here we were at the third level: the attack against those that attacked the attacker. When does it stop?

Thanks again.

"When does it stop?"

it's never going to (i hope)

Cliff is very easily misread...even a moderate a--hole (like myself) has made the mistake of interpreting his dishing out to be an invitation to respond in like manner...sad to say it took me a while to figure out that Cliff is one forumite that is best when not taunted

i believe it was BryanE who made the self-admission that he was not an archivist...this got me to thinking that few of us are...i have a lot to say about August 82, a bit about May 77, 1983...beyond that? kinda scketchy

Cliff is one of the few true archivists (that piece he did on Spanish Jam - w-o-w!) the issue is important enough to be worthy of several levels of discussion...but i agree, perhaps the rest is now up to Cliff

kudos to Rob for making several gestures of broken arrows (no pun intended Mr. Tell)

thanx to all those who have provided insights

all the best to you Cliff

Jesus! Now I get it...I look away to do some work, and you're right--some sort of Woodstock-esque lovefest has broken out, and I am NOT the man for the job...well, okay, thinking of the guy that cleaned out the porta potties at Woodstock (in the film), maybe I am the guy for the job!

Sorry--if you were talking about Rich, I understand completely. I was talking about CLIFF as I felt he had moved on.

I understand that CLIFF was extremely angry over the attacks he underwent, and that some of his response may have spilled over at the time, but was very happy to have him back with his music oriented posts the past week or two.

We're cool; see you over there.

But, I do want to know what you don't like about Donovan!
